Description
Color.
Of the many marvels and complexities found in nature photography, what astonishes me most is color. While black and white images portray a raw simplicity, color is miraculous.
Amidst a gentle summer rain, I stand along the Blue Ridge Parkway this morning in an explosion of blazing stars and golden asters that seem more fantasy than reality. Mesmerized, I begin searching for just the right combination of purple and yellow patterns while sporadic breezes pass through the meadow. I circle quietly, like a leopard stalking his prey. If color is a miracle, then supernatural manifestation is what I seek.
As a light fog floats through the nearby tree line, I finally find my view: a divine blend of profuse and random hues framed by a bland background for dramatic contrast.
With the click of a shutter, my soul dances, uninhibited, through a field of God’s wonder.
Color, is, a miracle.
